Top 10 New Year’s Eve Travel Destinations Besides New York City
Every year, we want to ring in the new year in a fun way. Everyone knows about Times Square in New York City and while this is fun, there are so many other great New Year’s Eve celebrations happening throughout the world. It is always a good idea to look around at what other cities have going on and try a new destination to ring in the next new year.
Sydney provides a huge celebration to ring in the new year. On Sydney Harbour, they have one of the largest fireworks display that you can find throughout the world. Keep in mind that New Year’s is during the summer in this city (when it is winter in the United States, it is summer time in Australia) so you will not have to bundle up to enjoy the fireworks show. You can mingle with people down at the Harbour or you can hit up one or more of the dozens of parties taking place at the various bars and restaurants throughout the city.

Here you only have one major area to party for New Year’s Eve, but it is a big celebration. Here you will head to Piazza del Popolo. They have a massive fireworks display, as well as dancing, music and people from all over the world coming together to celebrate.
Paris, of course, offers a big celebration by the Eiffel Tower. There are usually several different celebrations in this area and you can stay at one or hop around and check out several of them. If you want to avoid the biggest crowds, the bars in the Montmartre area offer plenty of parties and fun people.
You have a few choices when ringing in the new year in Edinburgh. You can check out organized entertainment and fireworks near Edinburgh Castle. For several clubs and bars offering parties, you can head to Princess Street. For a true Scottish New Year’s celebration, you should take the time to check out the Hogmanay Street Party.
If you want to travel far for the New Year, but still want it to feel like NYC, London is the place to go. They have huge celebrations in different areas of the city. If you want to see fireworks, you will want to head to Westminster and check out the show that happens over the London Eye. For the many bars and clubs having big parties, head to Covent Garden, Leicester Square or Soho.
