Visiting Phang Nga Bay, Thailand
Thailand is one of the most beautiful and amazing Asian countries. One of its most famous and visited touristic attractions is Phang Nga Bay.
Phang Nga Bay is a bay located in Strait of Malacca in the Phang Nga Province in Thailand, near Phuket Island, with area of about 400 km2. Since 1981 it is part of Ao Phang Nga National Park.
Phang Nga Bay is famous for stunning limestone cliffs and caves. The most popular attractions in the bay are James Bond Island and Koh Panyee. The best way to visit these two locations is by boat.
Koh Ta-pu become famous after it was filmed in movie ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’. After the 1974 Bond movie everyone started calling it James Bond Island. The area around James Bond Island is spectacular, but in season it can be crowded with many tourist boats. It is one of most photographed island in the world.
Koh Panyee is small island with hundreds of huts and restaurants built around it on wooden and concrete piles. You can get to Koh Panyee by renting a long-tail boat from Surakul.
