London, England is a world famous holiday destination and full of tourist attractions and amusement opportunities, so planning your itinerary may be a daunting task if you don’t have a lot of time. After living in this fabulous city for several years now, I have summarized some of the main things in London, which I believe, are not to be missed:

The Sights

The Capital is renowned for its famous architectural structures and their historical significance, including Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London are a must-see and don’t forget to take a photo with all these iconic London attractions.

The Shops

Many people visit London not only for sight-seeing, but for the fantastic shopping areas and Oxford Street is no exception. It is one of the greatest shopping locations in Europe and where you will find all the big names, including large department-stores such as Selfridges, John Lewis and Debenhams. Be sure to reserve a couple of hours for Harrods, the most exciting department store in London. Hamleys is also definitely worth a visit, especially if you are traveling with children.

The Parks

In contrast to the bustling city, there are plenty of beautiful parks and gardens in London to take a peaceful refuge in, including Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. You can also relax and enjoy one of the best views of Buckingham palace from St. James Park, take pleasure in the Queen Mary’s rose gardens in Regents Park, or have a picnic in Green Park.

The Museums & Galleries

You can literally spend hours in London’s museums having a look at everything they have to show you, even without the special exhibitions. The National History museum is not to be missed, especially if you are traveling with children. The British Museum, the Science Museum, the Museum of London, the National Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum are all well worth a visit as part of a memorable trip to London.

The Food

Whether it’s a breakfast of fresh croissants and hot coffee in a French café, or an authentic English afternoon tea at the Ritz or a Chinese banquet in China Town, London is an exciting, culturally vibrant location and offers a diverse variety of food and there are many cafés & restaurants to choose from.

The Theaters

If you wish to be entertained, then London is the place for you, with a multitude of famous theater shows and comedy clubs.
