Europe has many famous tourist destinations, but there are also some destinations that are underrated. In this post we will show you some of the underrated European cities that are surely worth visiting (you can see Part 1 here). In this edition we will show you: Bratislava, Edinburgh, Lyon, Heidelberg and Valencia.
Bratislava, Slovakia
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia, with a population of about 500,000. It is located on the banks of the rivers Danube and Morava. Bratislava is only about 80 km from Austria’s capital, Vienna. It has a nice historical center of the town and an amazing medieval castle.
Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland with a population of almost a half million people. It is located in the Lothian region in eastern Scotland. Edinburgh is well know for its amazing medieval fortress and beautiful town architecture.
Lyon, France
Lyon is located in the Rhone-Aloes region in east-central France, with population of about 480,000. Lyon was founded by the Romans. It has many interesting touristic attractions, from the Roman era to modern days.
Heidelberg, Germany
Heidelberg is located in the region Rhein-Neckar in southern Germany on the banks of the River Neckar. It has a population of about if 150,000. Its University is one of the most famous in all of Europe. On the hill above Heidelberg there are amazing ruins of an old medieval castle.
Valencia, Spain
Valencia is the third largest city in Spain with a population of about 3 million. It is was founded as a Roman colony in 138 BC. In Valencia you can see many amazing structures from ancient to modern.
